Visited the Glenturret Distillery recently and found it very interesting. The tour staff, right from check in to finish were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the product. We had lunch after the tour in the café which was fantastic and worth the visit
This is a lovely wee distillery in a gorgeous setting just outside of Crieff, Scotland. My wife and I took the tour round the distillery which started off with a glass of hot whisky punch and some whisky truffle chocolate and ended some time later with a couple of taster drams. What's not to like?
This is a must for all whiskey and non whiskey lovers as the place is amazing, our tour guide Jamie was amazing, his knowledge was outstanding and personality to match, the staff in the gift shop are more than happy to help u and give u new ideas and the wee tasters are great too
We have had a few tours of whisky distilleries in Scotland, but this tour was the best yet ! Hands off to the small team who make the lovely Glenturret single malt, and a huge thanks to our tour guide who was fantastic. I learned more about the techniques used to make the heavenly spirit and our guide brought it in a charming and entertaining way. Spot on !!!
"Blending experience. Fantastic!" My fiancé and I recently visited the distillery with our parents to do the blending experience where you get to create your very own blend of whisky and take a wee bottle away with you. We did this for a special occasion - we are getting married soon and we are going to be drinking from a quaich so we brought our dads here to make their own blends of whisky and we will mix these drinks in the quaich during our wedding ceremony to represent our two families coming together. I phoned up weeks in advance to book the blending experience but they were fully booked. When I explained the special purpose of the visit, Sheenagh managed to squeeze us in on a date that suited us perfectly. She went above and beyond to help us out and we really appreciate it! Our tour was with Jamie and he was amazing! The tour was very informative and we had a good bit of banter.
I was surprised that the distillery was so small and intimate - pleasantly surprised! Glenturret is an element in the Famous Grouse blend, but it is also a pleasant malt in its own right. The tour was excellent. I have visited many distilleries, but this visit produced new insights. If it is not appropriate to taste the samples, they are made available to take away - a very good idea!
